AMAZING

meet my gal Emily!

she knows shes smart, funny, awesome... and fat! she doesn't need people telling her these things or acting like the last thing on the list makes her any less of a person! she is confident and self-assured and she knows that she is enough... even if her diet-obsessed mom doesn't think so.

when she gets rejected at a party and her newly-slim bff returns from a holiday, her confidence takes a knock. that is, until she meets Joe. he's gorgeous and into the same bands as her! somehow she has to convince everyone (even herself) that she is perfect the way she is and that's ~no big deal~.

NO BIG DEAL - Bethany Rutter (⭐⭐⭐⭐/5)

this book was definitely meant for someone a few years younger than me because I think I could see red flags from certain characters quite early on (I know if I was 17, I wouldn't have seen then so quickly) BUT I still enjoyed it fully. Emily is a very confident character, even in the face of constant criticisms from certain classmates and family members. I think that the story had a good moral and it focused on Emily and how she never needed to change for anyone. There was no big makeover moment or grand weight loss, which I really liked. Emily didnt need to change for the world, the world had to change for her.
