An honour killing is at the heart of this book. You know the identities of the murderer and the victim from the beginning. Yet, there's a mystery to this story that is woven with subtlety and acuity. Elif Shafak tackles a difficult subject with a humanity that allows you to feel for all of the characters in unexpected ways.
